at E's 2-yr checkup a few days ago, she didn't get any shots, but they needed a bit of blood for the lead test (I'm all for getting that checked, given the age of our house). She was quite unfazed by the finger poke, watching the lab tech get her blood, etc. So the lab tech said to her "You could be a health care professional when you grow up!" (She also kept calling me "Mom" and i had to restrain myself from commenting that I was NOT her (the lab tech's) mother).

6 yrs make a difference. I asked for the lead test because we had peeling gross paint and stucco and they had to do an arm vein blood draw, which was so not fun. Something that I just learned at seminar was that public health guidelines are for every 18 ms old to have an Iron test to check for anemia. They did not do it at our clinic, so I have no clue about Kari, unless I ask. But giving you a heads up so you can request it, if they dont offer it. We seem not to get off the virus merry go around ever. This is summer and some kind of a wheeze/cough is at our house again (Kari now). I suppose knocking down piece of wall in the bathroom would add to the wheeze, but gosh tearing down stuff is fun.
